Training procedure

The normal training procedure may be subject to change at the discretion of the Training Manager (TM) and the TD, to better suit the individual student. However, this outlined training scheme is the standard, and any alterations needs the TD’s approval.

  1. Fast-Track approved by TD
    1. Once approved the local TM will be informed, and they will contact the student once a mentor is available.
  2. Student receives access to Pre-training material
    1. The student is expected to study up on procedures as expected by a normal student
  3. 1 or 2 sessions on Sweatbox
    1. This is used to gain the S1 rating as well for the Mentor to ensure proficiency level is sufficient
  4. Rating upgrade to S1
    1. TM will assign the S1 test, once passed request rating upgrade
  5. VATEUD Fast-Track test
    1. This point may be moved at the mentor/TM's discretion (Not later than before rating upgrade to S2)
    2. If the test fails, the student will be transferred to Standard training. TD may decide to continue Fast-Track, however with a CPT
  6. 1 or 2 sessions online as TWR
    1. This is used for the mentor to ensure sufficient knowledge and skills for handling any S2 position
  7. 2nd hand opinion on TWR
    1. The student will have one session with a different mentor from before. If the mentor approves of the students controlling, the student will proceed. If not the TM and TD will evaluate if the student needs more training or be removed from the FT scheme.
    2. The TM may require the student to pass the "VATEUD S2 Theory Test"
  8. Rating upgrade to S2
    1. The TM may require the student to control a control a certain amount of hours alone before they can continue.
  9. 1 or 2 sessions online as APP
    1. This is used for the mentor to ensure sufficient knowledge and skills for handling any S3 position
  10. Rating upgrade to S3
    1. If the mentor (On behalf of TM) is happy with the knowledge and skill level, the TM will request the S3 test, once approved the rating upgrade can be issued.
  11. Training is completed to the highest level allowed by the Fast-Track Scheme.

If the student is only eligible for an S2 Rating as part of the scheme, once the test is issued and the rating is upgraded, the Student will return to the regular training pool.
