AIR-TO-AIR REFUELING AREAS

General

Air-to-air refueling (AAR) operations within the Copenhagen FIR should normally be conducted within one of the pre-planned AAR Tracks listed below.

Flexibility: AAR operations are not restricted solely to the pre-planned tracks and may be performed anywhere within EKDK FIR following coordination with Copenhagen ACC.

Track Procedures:
When conducting AAR within the designated tracks, aircraft will normally receive clearance to remain within the associated TSA/TRA. Aircraft must:

  • Remain within the lateral boundaries of the associated TSA/TRA
  • Maintain at least 2.5 NM from the lateral limits unless alternative arrangements are coordinated with the controlling agency

Track Geometry:

  • The inbound track is flown from the Additional Point to the Anchor Point
  • Upon reaching the Anchor Point, aircraft execute a turn in the specified direction
  • The inbound track may be shortened if operationally necessary
  • Extensions beyond the Additional Point require prior coordination with the controlling agency
