Before changing anything you must know the status quo.

1. Go to https://my.vatsim.net/profile

2. Look at the bottom of the page at the box labeled "Region - Division - Subdivision".

You should now know what Region, Division, and Subdivision you are assigned to.

You are always assigned to some Region and Division. Subdivision assignment depends on the Division and is not automatic.

Proceed based on your current assignment.

Region is not "Europe, Middle East and Africa"
