Expanded CDM Procedures (TWR/GND/DEL)

Starting CDM (All Controllers)

AsOnly one controller per airport can be CDM master, and only the firstmaster thingcalculates whenTSATs. The master shall be the lowest online position at that airport (DEL > GND > TWR > APP/CTR top-down). All other controllers are slaves by default and do not need to do anything.

If you logare onthe youlowest mustposition activateat CDMan toairport, usewrite it

When changea correctlylower position logs on, or the current master logs off, master must be handed over:

  1. The Oldold controllermaster changesswitches to Slaveslave withby commandwriting .cdm slave BIKF
  2. Once there areis no master controllers, master, the new controllescontroller getstakes the master "role"over by writing .cdm master BIKFICAO

Never have two masters for the same airport. Coordinate the handover before typing the command.

Expanded CDM Procedures (TWR/GND/DEL)

This iscovers both conducting ATFCM via CTOTs(CTOTs) and A-CDM through use of TSATs(TSATs).

Expanded CDM procedures are done from Startupthe list,start-up butlist. canTWR bemay doneuse viathe departure list for TWR.instead. Please knownote that:

  • You should adhere tofollow A-CDM procedures unless traffic load is low, using either throughthe Departuredeparture list or Startupthe start-up list.
  • You MUST adhere to the displayed CTOT for takeoff
    take-off.

DescriptorColumns

There are four main descriptor of times (EOBT, TOBT, TSAT, CTOT), separated by three descriptorsstatus columns (E, TTG, CONF), and an additional four additional items (ASRT, ASAT, DE-ICE, ECFMP).

  • EOBT: Estimated Off Off-Block Time
    • The pilot filed off off-block time fromfiled in the flightplanflight plan (e.g. Simbrief)from SimBrief). The onetime the passengers showsshow up for.
  • TOBT: Target Off Off-Block Time.Time
    • The time the aircraft expects to be ready, confirmed or updated by the pilot filedon offthe blockVDGS time,(vats.im/vdgs) viaor ourset CDMby tool to confirm actual time of start-up readiness.  ATC.
  • TSAT: Target Start-up Approval Time.Time
    • The time ourthe system calculates based offfrom the TOBT,TOBT to havefit the pilot fitaircraft into the departure sequence.
    • ForMainly internalfor capacitylocal mainlyairport capacity.
  • CTOT: Calculated TakeoffTake-Off Time
    • A Takeoff time at which theThe aircraft must departtake off within -5/+10 minminutes of.of this time. The TSAT is adjusted accordingly.to match.
    • For external capacity (ECFMP,ATFCM, ATFCM)ECFMP).

  • ASRT: Actual Start-up Request Time
    • The time the pilot requested start-upup. ifSet doneit sowhen a pilot calls before their TSAT iswindow. active. It stops the flight being invalidated at TSAT and lets the system look for an earlier TSAT.
  • ASAT: Actual Start-up Approval Time
    • When start-up is approved (status set to STUP or PUSH in Status)PUSH), ASAT activatesis recorded and the rest of the line goesturns gray.grey.

Procedures

ProceduresThe dependsprocedures depend on whether you are handling SEQsequencing onlyonly, or DEL+SEQ.

both

clearance delivery and sequencing.

Aircraft calls for ATC Clearanceclearance (if within AOR)your area of responsibility)

If a CTOT is present: Adviseadvise the pilot aboutof CTOT!.the AdviseCTOT onand of the earliest startupstart-up time (TSAT).

If there is no CTOT: Nono further action is required at this stage.

Aircraft calls for STARTUP/PUSHBACKstart-up/pushback

Check yourthe timings and note:times:

  • If TSAT isdark Darkgreen: Green, Start-start-up can be approved.
  • If TSAT islight Lightgreen: Green, the Pilotpilot is still more than 5 minutes early.early heand must wait.
  • If TSAT isyellow: Yellow Start-start-up can be approved, but be quick, as it willis soonabout to expire.
  • If TSAT isblank: Blank, the Flightplanflight expiredhas been invalidated and a new TOBT mustis beneeded filed.(set by the pilot on the VDGS, or by you with Ready TOBT).

If the TSAT is Lightlight Greengreen, a CTOT is present, or a CTOT is present orthe TOBT is Invalidinvalid (expired), try to improve it bywith sending a "Ready message"TOBT by *right clicking on(right-click the TOBT.TOBT). This updatessets the TOBT to the current time, time and tries to recalculate everythingrecalculates to look for an earlier time.TSAT.

If the TSAT remainsis still Lightlight Greengreen after that, Start-start-up cannot yet be approved.approved yet:

  • Click ASRT to remindrecord that a request has been made by the pilot has requested start-up.
  • Approve Startupstart-up when the TSAT turns Darkdark Greengreen.

When start-up approvedis approved:

  • UpdateSet Statusthe status to STUP or PUSHPUSH. toThis activaterecords the ASAT, and blankgreys out the rest of the times. AircraftThe aircraft is released.
