CDM setup & troubleshooting
How to set up the CDM plugin in EuroScope, and what to do when something does not work.
Setup
The BIRD sector file package includes the CDM plugin and its settings. Install the latest package first.
- Check that these files are in your
BIRD\Pluginsfolder:CDM.dll,CDMconfig.xml,rate.txt,taxizones.txt,colors.txt. - In EuroScope, open OTHER SET > Plug-ins and check that CDM Plugin is loaded. If not, click Load and choose
BIRD\Plugins\CDM.dll. - With CDM Plugin selected, allow it on both Standard ES radar screen and Ground Radar display.
- Save your profile so CDM loads automatically next time.
- Check that the departure and start-up lists show the TOBT, TSAT, CTOT and ASRT columns.
Do not load vACDM at the same time as CDM. They are two different systems and will show conflicting times. If vACDM is in your plug-in list, unload it and save your profile.
Troubleshooting
No TSATs are shown for any flight
- Check that someone is master for the airport. If you are the lowest position, write .cdm master ICAO.
- Check that the flight has a TOBT. Use Ready TOBT if the pilot is ready.
- Check that the departure runways are set in EuroScope's runway dialog.
Times keep jumping or two controllers are master
Only one master per airport is allowed. Agree who should be master (the lowest position). The other controller writes .cdm slave.
A flight shows "not in CDM" or has no times
- The flight may not have a TOBT yet. Ask the pilot to confirm it on the VDGS, or set it with Ready TOBT when they call.
- The flight may have been invalidated (TOBT or TSAT expired). Set a new TOBT.
No CTOTs are appearing
Check that server communication is on. Write .cdm server to toggle it. Most flights do not have a CTOT, so no CTOTs is often normal.
CDM columns are missing from the lists
Check that CDM is loaded and allowed on the display you are using (OTHER SET > Plug-ins). If it still does not work, reinstall the latest BIRD package.
Sharing settings
Never share your .prf profile file. It contains your VATSIM CID and password in plain text. If you need to share settings, share only the specific files needed (e.g. rate.txt or taxizones.txt from BIRD\Plugins).
