A one-page quick reference for BIRD controllers. Each section links to the full page.
Before and during your session
- Book your position. vIFF capacity scenarios only see bookings.
- Select departure runways in the runway dialog.
- Lowest position becomes master:
.cdm master BIKF. Hand over with .cdm slave. → Starting CDM & handing over master
The rules
| Rule | Window |
|---|
| No TOBT means no TSAT (real mode is off) | Get the TOBT at clearance |
| Pilot must call ready | By TOBT+5, or the times are cancelled |
| Start-up approval | TSAT ±5 |
| Take-off with a slot | CTOT -5/+10. Always followed. |
Each departure

When things go wrong
| Problem | Action |

| TSAT blank | Ready TOBT if the pilot is ready; otherwise ask them to update the TOBT |
| Will miss slot by up to 10 min | CTOT options → EXTEND (once) |
| Will miss slot by more | Ready TOBT or REA for a new slot |
| Slot changed | "Revised slot ..." |
| Times stuck or missing | .cdm refresh → CDM setup & troubleshooting |
